Welcome to MafiaManiac, a site is dedicated to the growth and expansion of the online forum game of Mafia.

Mafia is that party game you may have played, where there is a mafia (informed minority) trying to overtake an entire village and the villagers (uninformed Majority) are trying to stop them. We play these mafia games over several days in our forum and we have people from all over the world playing them. These mafia games can be themed from movies, real life situations and almost anything you can think of! Mafia involves a lot of creative strategy, making you think on your toes. You'll be forced trust your gut, check your logic, and deceive or be deceived. If you think you can handle playing, here are a few links you should definitely check out.

Hey...http://www.mafiamaniac.net/img/Smilies/wave.gif biggrin.gif

My college recently had a seminar on social injustices - this includes poverty, abuse, violence, human trafficking, vices, corruption, discrimination in all its forms, etc....
Now I know this happens EVERYWHERE; don't deny it! tongue.gif

However, I would like everyone (I mean everyone on MM) to give their views & opinions, discuss, debate, argue, insult, etc. on this topic (please don't insult each other, though....feel free to http://www.mafiamaniac.net/img/Smilies/backstab.gif the government if you want - if I was in your place; i'd do it too....http://www.mafiamaniac.net/img/Smilies/smile.gif)

If possible, please also include ways to help those who need it; talking is not the only solution, right? http://www.mafiamaniac.net/img/Smilies/smile.gif

Ok, here we go....http://www.mafiamaniac.net/img/Smilies/handshake.gif

Based on the law of large numbers, the more injustices there are happening to more people, the more just the whole thing is.

The end.

Which one are you? The punisher or the punishee? unsure.gif

If you are the punisher, then you must be taking maurice's side since he's clearly the one "kicking butt." tongue.gif

A good programmer is someone who always looks both ways before crossing a one-way street.

Two novels can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other involves orcs.

It depends on how you are saying they kick butt. Give your PRO side and I'll see if I can CON it.

Nope. Either accept the challenge or don't. I show my secrets, then you decline, leaving me exposed? Na-ah.

Okay, I formally accept your challenge. Is that better? Why do I always give in to you?

Hitler. Stalin. Pol Pot.

What have they in common? They not only advocated social injustice, they actively carried them out.

This concludes my opening statement.

Okay.

Today I am going to argue that social injustices DO NOT "kick butt."

The macquarie wiktionary defines kick butt as "(slang, idiomatic) To be impressive; to be decisively good or pleasant."

Therefore, to say social injustices kick butt is to say that starvation is impressive, that poverty is decisively good or that torture is pleasant. I also wouldn't define Hitler, Pol Pot or Stalin as decisively good or pleasant people, and that they are impressive is open to debate (oops, I forgot where I was for a second  ) They are not impressive as referenced by the meaning of "kick butt."

Perhaps you meant "social injustices kick people's butts". I would assert that they do not, as a general rule. There are many people who have fought back from the social injustices listed in the OP. So I close in saying that social injustice is neither "kick butt".nor "kicks people's butts."

Rebuttal?

P.S- Do I win due to typing this post one fingered on an ipod?

Yes. You win. But so do I. Obviously there is no debating the goodness of social injustices.

Define "injustice"

The reason I ask is that to me it appears that it is simply that person(s) A behaves in a manner toward person(s) B in a way that person(s)C believes is incorrect. So who is person(s) C and why do A and B need to abide by their rules?
