** I am not sure if it is because there is no wart on his snout or if Manfred thinks that girls prefer warty nosed frogs, either way he seems partial to the odd mistruth.

Now that the championship preliminary game has ended this can be given a good discussion without influencing an ongoing game. There are a number of tools on Mafia Universe that we may be able to implement here. I have a a very brief discussion with Thingyman about getting the code. It appears even if they would be willing to share it would do no good as this site runs differently. That however does not mean that we cannot develop some of our own tools to help improve game-play and hosting however.
Some of the tools they have on Mafia Universe
* Automated host to count votes, print off a list of votes, to print out outcomes at the end of the day night and to freeze/unfreeze the thread
* The ability to display a list of who voted when and what order during the day
* the ability to use a dropdown box to vote.
* the ability to see conversations for a selected people (usually just a single person) in isolation.
Due to differences in game play between sites duplicating these tools (in their entirety) will not help. An example of this is that we normally start on a night phase and allow discussion at night so there is no need to freeze the thread. Also our voting format tends to be different , days tend to be shorter and requirement to be active not so strictly formalized (i.e we don't send out warnings if there has been less than 10 posts in a day phase)
That said I would like to open a discussion about what tools would be best for us. Consider what issues you have as a host, what would tools could help you be better at recording you suspicions or scum-hunting

To themselves the Idolized Goodie would appear to be goodie and will win with the goodies at the end of the game if all mafia and themselves have been eliminated from the game.
They however count in the baddies win-con and if they are the sole survivor at the end of the game the mafia wins.
Thus the win-con for the baddies is for them (including the Idolized Goodie) to have majority
The win-con for the goodies is to eliminate all mafia and the object of their affection
Up to you if
* Mafia is aware of who the Idolized Goodie is.
* Spy results show Idolized Goodie as being in the baddies faction, or specifically mention that they are an "Idolised Goodie"
This role would be useful in games that need more weight on the baddies side for balancing but you don't want to over-weigh it by adding another baddie.

This is an idea which you may wish to use to prevent a complete whitewash depending on who dies or gets lynched N1/D1. It may also bring more strategy to a game as it may be worth sacrificing a player for the greater good of your faction.
By having an action assigned to a role upon lynched (or alternatively being killed at night) the following are possible:
If a major mafia role is lynched it could be possible then to have an upon death action of revealing to the mafia the roles that have already been killed. This would then provide the remaining mafiosos with enough cover to keep the game challenging.
It can improve roles that are perceived to have little value such as "booster", "rid spy", "potentially insane faction spy", "protects village sided killer whist alive" or even "vanilla villager". One way of doing this would be if they player yells out the name for a specific role or someone working for an opposing faction upon death or can write a note to a given role upon death (as a role could already be dead, it could get interesting).
Hopefully this topic will inspire you to create novel roles that are interesting to play, it may be worth using this concept sparingly however unless you are very good at balancing.
